Update: Cause Of Death Ruled In Princeton Pool Incident

The Gibson County Coroner’s Office has completed an autopsy and ruled the manner and cause of death as accidental drowning.

Release as of Aug. 4, 2021 at 10:27 a.m.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating after a body of a juvenile is pulled from a Princeton Aquatic Center pool.

Last night at approximately 8:41 p.m., Gibson County Dispatch received a 911 call about a juvenile that was found unresponsive in a swimming pool. 

The victim was treated by EMS on scene and transported to Gibson Deaconess Hospital where they were pronounced dead. 

The investigation is ongoing, and an exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Responding agencies include Princeton Fire Department, Gibson County EMS, Gibson County Coroner’s Office, Princeton Police Department, Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, and Indiana Conservation Officers.
