Evansville woman arrested after failing to report traffic accident

On August 3, 2021, at 12:42 a.m. Officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Oakland City Police Department were dispatched to the Diplomat Motel located at 1733 S. State Road 57 near Oakland City to investigate possible drug activity. While on scene they observed a minor property damage accident occur when a White GMC back into an unoccupied Black Toyota Tundra. Officers then observed the White GMC leave the scene without investigating the seriousness of the damage. Officers then conducted a traffic stop on State Road 57 near County Road 350 South. While speaking with the driver 34-year-old Sara Ennulat of Evansville Deputy Naas began a roadside investigation. During the investigation drug paraphernalia and Methamphetamines were found inside the vehicle. At the conclusion of the investigation Ms. Ennulat was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Possession of Methamphetamines, and Possession of Paraphernalia. She has since posted a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Naas in his investigation was Deputy Loren Barchett and Oakland City Officer John Pace.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
