On August 26, 2021, at 7:42 p.m. GIbson County Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Gold 2005 Chevy Cobalt for traveling left of center on County Road 1225 East near County Road 100 South. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the persons inside the vehicle and began a roadside investigation. During the investigation Deputy Smith separated the persons in the vehicle with the assistance of Oakland City Police Officer John Pace and began a drug interdiction stop. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Smith placed passenger 43-year-old Jacki Doerner of Winslow into custody after he discovered Methamphetamines and Drug Paraphernalia in her possession. Deputy Smith transported Ms. Doerner to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Possession of Methamphetamines and Possession of Paraphernalia. She has since posted a $750 bond.
