On 4/30/21, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Zachary A. Mathis, age 29, of Mt. Carmel, for Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, Resisting a Peace Officer, Assault, and Disorderly Conduct following a neighborhood dispute in the 1100 block of West 6th Street. During the investigation police learned that Mathis was threatening bodily harm against one of his neighbors. When officers attempted to arrest Mathis he became resistant and struck one of the officers in the facial area. Officers gained custody of Mathis at which time he was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with the above offenses and bond set at $2500 cash. MCPD was assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.
