On February 19, 2021, at 1:04 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of an individual attempting to take a package from a residence in the 1300 block of East 150 South. The reporting party was able to give central dispatch an accurate description of the suspects as well as a description of a Red Chevy Truck that picked them up as they attempted to flee the area. Deputy Jennifer Robb and Indiana State Trooper Jordan Lee arrived in the area before being given the description of the pickup but were able to notify other officers the direction that it was traveling. Sergeant Bruce Vanoven stopped a Red 2011 Chevy Silverado on Main Street across the street from the jail and upon approaching the vehicle a female later identified as 21-year-old Rosalea Landazuri stated that she had in fact touched the package. Deputy Jennifer Robb investigated the incident speaking to the victim who provided photos of the suspect as well as the vehicle they were picked up in. After collecting statements from the driver of the vehicle and the other female at the scene Deputy Robb placed Ms. Landazuri into custody. Ms. Landazuri was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Theft and False Informing/Hindering Law Enforcement. She remains in custody on a $650 bond.
Assisting Deputy Robb in her investigation were officers with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, and Princeton Police Department.
