On 10/06/21, Mt. Carmel Police arrested James C. Curtright, age 20, of Sterling, IL, for Sex Offender – Fail to Register Address Change and Sex Offender- School Zone Violation. Curtright had recently transferred his sex offender registry to an address in Mt. Carmel; however, officers learned information that Curtright had since moved and had been staying in the 500 block of North Market at two different addresses. Due to Curtright’s failure to update his address registry as well as residing across the street from St. Mary’s School, Curtright was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Curtright was held pending a bond setting by a judge.
