Weapons & Domestic Battery Charges Get Mt. Carmel Man 5 Years In Prison

Kelli Storckman, Wabash County State’s Attorney, reports that Lloyd A.
Wood Jr., a 46-year old Mt. Carmel, Illinois man, was sentenced to the
Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Circuit Judge
William C. Hudson in Wabash County Circuit Court.


State’s Attorney Storckman advises that the Defendant was charged on
August 2, 2021, with Possession of Weapon by a Felon, a Class 3 Felony.
Mr. Wood was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of
Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release
(parole). On August 9, 2021, with Domestic Battery, a Class 3 Felony.
Mr. Wood was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of
Corrections, to be followed by four years of mandatory supervised
release (parole). Sentences to run concurrent.

FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF OFFENSE:

2021-CF-64: That on the 19th day of July, 2021, in Wabash County, the
Defendant, LLOYD A. WOOD, committed the offense of POSSESSION OF WEAPONS
BY FELON, in that said Defendant, a person who has been convicted of a
felony under the law of Illinois knowingly possessed on his person metal
knuckles, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/24-1.1(a). A CLASS 3 FELONY

2021-CF-66: That on the 8th day of August, 2021, in Wabash County,
Illinois, the Defendant, LLOYD A. WOOD JR., committed the offense of
DOMESTIC BATTERY, in that said Defendant, without legal justification,
knowingly made physical contact of an insulting nature to XXXX, with who the Defendant had a former dating relationship, in that
said Defendant struck XXXXXX with a bicycle and pushed her to
the ground; and, at the time of this offense, Defendant had previously
been convicted of a violation of 720 ILCS 5/12-3.2 in Wabash County,
Illinois case # 2016-CF-68 on June 27, 2016; Wabash County, Illinois
case # 2016-CM-22 on April 18, 2016; and Wabash County, Illinois case #
2017-CF-107 on October 3, 2007, in violation of 720 ILCS
5/12-3.2(a)(2). A CLASS 3 FELONY
