On October 1, 2021, at 12:18 a.m. Gibson County Deputy Garrett Tuley observed a Black 2021 Ford Expedition traveling at 110 mph in a 60 mph zone on US 41 near County Road 400 South. Deputy Tuley pursued the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Mulberry Street and US 41 in Fort Branch. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Tuley identified the driver as 30-year-old Gabriela De Mello Dos Santos of Chicago, Illinois. After a brief investigation Deputy Tuley placed the female into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Reckless Driving. She has since posted a $900 bond.
Assisting Deputy Tuley in the investigation was Fort Branch Officer Jeff Beck and Haubstadt Officer Riley Farmer.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
