Three Injured In Lawrence County Crash

ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH WITH INJURIES

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

WHAT:                      Two Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries

WHERE:                   Illinois Route 250 at Quail Cory Way, Lawrence County

WHEN:                      Oct. 16, 2021 at approximately 3:08 p.m.

VEHICLES:              Unit 1 – Silver 2004 Dodge Caravan

                                    Unit 2 – White 2019 Ford Escape

DRIVERS:                 Unit 1 – Rita E. Tracy, a 63-year-old female from Sumner, IL - Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

                                    Unit 2 – Julie A. Benson, a 62-year-old female from Lawrenceville, IL - Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PASSENGER:           Unit 2 - Deborah D. Jones-Faris, a 63-year-old female from Lawrenceville, IL - Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 and Unit 2 were traveling east on Illinois Route 250, near Quail Cory Way. Unit 2 slowed to turn north on Quail Cory Way. The driver of Unit 1 failed to stop in time and rear-ended Unit 2. All parties involved were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.

 

CHARGES:               The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash.
