ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12
WHAT: Two Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE: Illinois Route 33 just east of Wheeler, Jasper County
WHEN: Oct. 14, 2021 at approximately 10:35 a.m.
VEHICLES: Unit 1 – 2021 White Nissan NV200 Cargo Van
Unit 2 – 2021 Silver Toyota Prius
DRIVERS: Unit 1 – Lori A. Kliment, 61-year-old female from Springfield, IL – Transported to an area hospital with injuries.
Unit 2 – Anthony Burke, 35-year-old male from Olney, IL – Air lifted to an area hospital with injuries.
PASSENGERS: Unit 1 – Patrick L. Kistner, 67-year-old male from Springfield, IL – Transported to an area hospital with injuries.
PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 33 east of Wheeler. Unit 2 was traveling westbound at the same location. For unknown reasons, Unit 1 crossed over the center of the roadway entering Unit 2’s lane of travel, striking Unit 2.
CHARGES: The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.
