City Council Awards 3 Year Mowing Contract To Grayville Company

A Grayville firm did such a good job mowing Mt. Carmel’s city-owned cemeteries last year, they were rewarded with a new three year contract. K & K Small Jobs submitted the only bid for the cemetery for 2021 at $20,400, which is the same as last year. But in a departure from previous mowing companies, City Clerk Rudy Witsman said K & K only billed for the times they mowed and that came in at $18,550, saving the city almost $2,000. Street superintendent Dave Easter told the city council the cemeteries were well maintained and he had heard of very few complaints about the job K & K did, especially compared to past years. Based on their performance, the city council agreed to a three year deal with K & K with year two coming at $22,400, and year three at $23,000.
