New Jersey man arrested on multiple charges after fight at truck stop

On January 16, 2021, at 7:20 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a fight at the Pilot Travel Center located at 1042 E. Warrenton Road near Haubstadt, Indiana. Officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Branch Police Department, and Haubstadt Police Department were dispatched on scene and upon arriving officers separated all parties involved in the incident. At that point Deputy Brian Naas began an investigation into the fight allegation. During the investigation evidence showed that 42-year-old Parwinder Kang of Mt. Holley, New Jersey battered another individual. Mr. Kang was an extreme state of intoxication and was verbally and physically noncompliant with officers during the investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation Mr. Kang was booked into the Gibson County Jail on charges of Battery, Public Intoxication, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer. He remains in custody on a $1500 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
