The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police
District 12
WHAT: Two Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE: Hickory Hill Lane near Lincoln Road, Clay County
WHEN: Sept. 5, 2020 at 1:40 a.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1- 2007 Silver Chrysler SUV
Unit 2- 2019 Bronze Lincoln Navigator
DRIVER: Unit 1- 45 year old female from Flora, IL – Deceased (Pending notification of next of kin)
Unit 2- None
PRELIMINARY: A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was travelling west on hickory Hill Lane near Lincoln Road in Clay County. The driver of Unit 1 lost control and ran off the road to the right. Unit 1 traveled through a ditch, a beanfield and across a residential yard before striking Unit 2 which was unoccupied and parked in the driveway of the residence. The driver of Unit 1 was transported to an area hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. This crash is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
