Four Hurt In Wreck Near Salem

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

  

WHAT:                      Personal Injury Crash

 

WHERE:                   Illinois 37 southbound at CJ Heck Road, Salem, Illinois.           

 

WHEN:                      June 11, 2020 @ 08:17 A.M. 

 

VEHICLES:              Unit 1 - Black 1995 GMC Sierra                                                       

                                    Unit 2 - Green 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer

 

DRIVERS:                 Unit 1 - Rachael Anne Clark a 45 year old female from Salem, IL – Airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

                                   

                                    Unit 2 - Jeanette L. Baker, a 57 year old female from Salem, IL – Airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

PASSENGERS:         Unit 1 - Michael Clark, a 48 year old male from Salem, IL - Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   

                                   

                                    Unit 2 - Annette Lynn, a 38 year old female from Salem, IL - Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

                                                                       

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Illinois 37, approaching CJ Heck Road in Salem, IL. Unit 2 was stopped due to a Salem Township road crew resurfacing CJ Heck Road. Just as unit 2 was released and began to continue south, unit 1 rear-ended unit 2. Both drivers were airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and both passengers were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.

 

CHARGES:               The driver of unit 1 was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, expired driver’s license, and no insurance. 

 

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
