As of now, the stay at home order in Illinois expires April 30th. If there is no extension to the order, Mayor Joe Judge said Mt. Carmel City Hall will reopen to the public immediately after that. He said, however, the COVID-19 situation is a very fluid one and information that might have been true last week or even yesterday, might not be true today.
In other reports related to COVID-19 at last night’s city council meeting, Judge thanked city workers for the small amount of time employees have missed and the hard work they continue to put in during the crisis.
