Wabash County Commissioners will explore the possibility of updating the county’s aerial mapping. At Monday’s county board meeting, E-911 coordinator Kyle Smith broached the topic saying the last aerial mapping took place in 2013 and much had changed since that time. When the mapping was done 7 years ago, Smith said the cost was shared between the E-911 board, the county, city, public utility, and a local engineering firm. Commissioners instructed Smith to gather more information before a decision would be made. Smith said, if approved, the updated mapping wouldn’t be done until this fall or winter after the leaves are off the trees.
