Commissioners Hear Update From Mayor On COVID-19 Effects Locally

With commissioners standing at least 6 feet apart, the Mt. Carmel City Council met this evening in regular session and mostly dealt with routine items. The majority of the meeting featured Mayor Joe Judge delivering an update on the COVID-19 effects on the city. He touched on the executive order from Governor J. B. Pritzker urging residents to stay at home. Judge said the health of the community is city government’s top priority….

Judge further touched on the businesses that do remain open including restaurants for carry-outs or delivery, grocery stores, and gas stations…

Despite the pandemic and its’ effects on every day life, Judge said city government continues unfettered….

City Hall’s lobby was closed to the public Monday. Judge also said if you pay your water bill with cash, you need to use exact change when you leave it in the drop box.
