Sheriff Derek Morgan told the county board this week that his office handled 280 calls during the month of January. The jail population on Tuesday stood at 10. And during her report, Circuit Clerk Angie Crum told commissioners that over 36-thousand dollars ($36,614.91) fines and fees were collected during the month of January.
State’s Attorney Cassandra Goldman said her office was involved with three misdemeanor cases during January, along with eight felonies, six D-U-I-s, two careless driving, and 85 traffic violations. Goldman told the county board that six-thousand dollars ($5,992.34) in fines were imposed during the month, with around 16-hundred dollars ($1,588) in restitution made.
