The Mt. Carmel Police Department and the Wabash County Coroner's Office is investigating a death that occurred earlier today. At approximately 0839 hours, Mt. Carmel Police received a 911 call informing them of a stabbing at 909 N. Cherry Street in Mt. Carmel. Police arrived shortly after the call and found a deceased female. The suspect was located at the scene and arrested. The suspect has been identified as Ruben A. Corzine, age 32, of Mt. Carmel. Corzine has been transferred to the Wabash County Jail where he is being held without bond. The name of the victim has not been released. There will be more information as it becomes available. The Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff's Office Wabash General EMS, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
