Homecoming 2020 will be observed at Wabash Valley College on Saturday, Jan. 25, with several activities in store for WVC students, alumni and the public. WVC is hosting Southeastern Illinois College, with the Lady Warriors playing at 4 p.m. and the Warriors at 6 p.m. in the Spencer Sports Center.
Coronation of the 2020 Homecoming King and Queen will take place during halftime of the Warriors game. The WVC study body has selected candidates from the various participating clubs, and an election is being held for the student body to select the King and Queen.
Following the games, the WVC Student Senate will host a homecoming event, open to all WVC students and alumni, at the WVC pool running until 10 p.m. The free event will feature games, music, refreshments and swimming. The event coincides with the luau theme night planned for the games that evening.
Candidates for King and Queen are: Kirk Liebert and Ella Banks representing WVC baseball and softball, Justin Boyd and Haley Moore representing WVC basketball, Isaac Wilson and Haley Hart representing the Diesel Club, Kane Jones and Jaylyn Wease representing the Business Club, Darian Neu and Garrett McCully representing the WVC cheer team, Tanner Daniel and Rebecca Girton representing Health Professionals Club, Nhut Dang Le and Vy Tran representing the International Club, Tanner Creed and Seanna Rodrick representing Phi Theta Kappa, Tyler Johnston and Raven Schleter representing Players Guild, Bryce Klingler and Sierra Hughes representing Radio/TV, Logan Simpson and Kinzi James representing Student Nurses Association, Justus Meserole representing Social Services Club and Troy Stoltz and Morgan Thompson representing Student Senate.
The 2019 Homecoming Queen, Kate Broster, and King, Trevor Kennard, have been invited to perform the coronation honors. The WVC Student Senate and Warrior Athletics will sponsor homecoming activities.
