On 07.29.19 at 13:13 hrs. the Wabash County Sheriff's Office and Mt. Carmel Police Department executed a search warrant at 214 N. Walnut St. Apt. 5, in Mt. Carmel. During the execution of the warrant Deputies seized just over 135 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ICE). The occupant of the apartment, Jason K. Groves, 47, was not home at the time the warrant was served. The issuance of the search warrant stemmed from a broad drug investigation that was initiated in April of 2019 by the Wabash County Sheriff's Office.
Thus far 2 individuals have been taken into custody as a result of the investigation. On July 30th, 2019 an arrest warrant was issued for Robert Earl Harms, 37 of Mt. Carmel for Delivery of Methamphetamine. On the same day a warrant was issued for Ryan Healy of Mt. Carmel for Delivery of Methamphetamine. Harms and Healy were already in custody for unrelated charges, bond has been set $40,000 in each case.
A warrant has been issued for Jason K. Groves of Mt. Carmel for the charge of Aggravated Possession with intent to Deliver Amphetamine, with a bond of $500,000.
