On 8/15/19 at 5:14pm Mount Carmel Police were dispatched to the Wabash General Hospital regarding an injury to a male juvenile identified as Miles A. Paris, age 12, of Mt. Carmel. Paris was later transported by air ambulance to an Evansville, Indiana area hospital for treatment.
Due to the nature of the injury, police, along with a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) from the Illinois State Police responded to the residence in the 900 block of West 1st Street. With the consent from his mother, police and the CSI, processed the scene. Involved parties were interviewed and found the scene matched witness statements.
While this case remains open, there was no sign of foul play found in this incident.
The Mount Carmel Police would like to extend our thoughts and hope for a speedy recovery of Miles. No further information will be provided at this time.
