On 07.18.19 at approximately 13:51 hours Officers from the Mt.Carmel Police Department and the Wabash County Sheriff's Office went to 11600 E. 1020 Ln. to serve felony arrest warrants. As law enforcement attempted to make contact at the door of the residence 37 year old Robert E. Harms of Mt. Carmel fled the area. Harms was wanted on 2 Wabash County Felony warrants and a No Bond Felony warrant out of Gibson County, IN. Harms was apprehended by K9 Roy after a short foot pursuit through backyards and over a fence.
Harms has been charged with:
Possession of Meth over 15 grams but less than 100 grams (Class 1 Felony)
3 counts of Burglary (for items found at the residence) (each a class 3 felony)
Possession of Meth manufacturing material (class 2 felony)
Also charged in the incident:
38 year old Melanie M. Christie of Mt. Carmel
Possession of Meth less than 5 grams (class 3 felony)
Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material
43 year old Ryan Healy of Mt. Carmel
Possession of Meth Manufacturing Material
The investigation continues and more charges are anticipated in this case.
Methamphetamine continues to be an issue that creates numerous other issues within Wabash County. Today's joint effort between the Sheriff's Office and Police Department demonstrates a common goal of serving our community and protecting it's property.
