City Looking Into Solving Fall Leaf Issue

The city of Mt. Carmel is looking to get back into the leaf vac business. At Monday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Joe Judge instructed street commissioner Tom Meeks and street superintendent Dave Easter to investigate acquiring a multi-function unit that would serve double duty as a leaf vac and street sweeper. Judge said his preliminary analysis put the price tag of a unit at just under $70,000, much lower than the $200,000 plus cost of a street sweeper alone.
