City Council Adopts FY 19-20 Budget

As the city of Mt. Carmel enters into the final week of the current fiscal year, officials are marveling at the amazing turnaround in city finances. At this time last year, the city council adopted a budget that was dripping in red ink to the tune of $88,000. But as the fiscal year ends on April 30th, finance commissioner and mayor-elect Joe Judge said the city looks to finish well in the black….


 

During a brief public hearing preceding the regular council meeting yesterday, comptroller Mick Mollenhauer said the positive turnaround was the work of a lot of people…

The city council last night officially adopted the budget for the fiscal year that begins May 1st showing an overall surplus of just under $39,000. But, the general fund is projected to be $94,000 over budget.
