Mount Carmel man arrested for disregarding a school bus stop arm

On March 8, 2019, at 4:04 p.m. Deputy Zach Lienemann conducted a traffic stop on a Blue 1996 Jeep Cherokee for running the extended stop arm of North Gibson School Corporation Bus 2 on State Road 64 near County Road 175 North. Sgt. Bruce Vanoven who was ridingthe bus observed the violation and radioed to Deputy Lienemann who was a few cars behind the bus in traffic.

Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Lienemann identified the driver as 70 year old Marvin Westlake of Mount Carmel. Mr. Westlake was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Reckless Driving-Disregarding a SchoolBus Stop Arm. He remains in custody on an $1100 bond.

All Criminal Defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
