WGH PARTNERS WITH COMMONWEALTH TO PROVIDE PAIN CLINIC

March 22, 2019. Wabash General Hospital’s President & CEO Karissa Turner is delighted to announce, “We have found a partner that is committed to providing high-quality pain management to our community starting in May 2019. We identified the need to add pain management services after we realized many residents were traveling out of town for services. Commonwealth Pain & Spine was chosen due to our mutual values of serving our patients with compassion and respect. Their values represent whatwe are looking for in a partner. Commonwealth is dedicated to delivering the best care with highly trained professionals. This is one more example of how WGH is committed to bringing more services to our community to increase access to quality care in our area.”

Dr. Nicolaus Winters and Laura Stewart, MSN, RN, FNP-BC will be seeing patients on Tuesdays and Fridays in Wabash General Hospital’s specialty clinic that is located inside the hospital.

Dr. Winters received his medical degree and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Louisville. Dr. Winters completed his pain management fellowship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham and is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologist and American Academy of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Winters stated, “We are honored to join with Wabash General and become part of the community. We are committed to providing a high level of service to our patients, and are excited to get started!”

Laura Stewart is board certified by the ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2012 from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville.

Dr. Thomas Selby, Chief of Staff at WGH, stated, “The medical staff agrees a pain management clinic will provide a valuable and much needed service to our community and patients. We are happy the hospital has expanded its scope of care to provide a local option for pain management services!”
