#348 School Board Takes No Action To Allow Home School Students To Participate In District Extra-Curricular

The Wabash District #348 school board has decided not to change the policy that prevents home school students from participating in extra-curricular activities and sports.

Last month, Dr. Todd Gill laid out a plan that would allow the home school students to participate in the extra-curriculars while benefiting the district at the same time. But, near the end of last night’s school board meeting, board president Tim Schuler opened up the topic to the board asking if any of the members wanted to discuss the issue. After waiting 10 seconds and hearing nothing, Schuler said there was no interest by the board to make any changes and the meeting adjourned.

Since last month’s meeting, Gill said he had supplied Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bleyer and the board with additional information supporting their request.
