Pope County- On 02/12/19 the Illinois State Police District 22 was contacted by the Administration of the Pope County School District regarding an anonymous threat sent via the internet to a student. Through a joint effort investigation by the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement agencies, and the Pope County School District a suspect was identified and has been taken into custody. The Illinois State Police and Pope County Sheriff’s Department will have officers at the school to insure safety and order is maintained throughout the day.
