Cassandra A. Goldman, Wabash County States Attorney, reports that Anthony S. Harms, a 36-year old Bladenboro, North Carolina was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Circuit Judge William C. Hudson in Wabash County Circuit Court. States Attorney Goldman advises that the Defendant was charged February 19, 2019, with Theft, a Class 2 Felony. On July 15, 2019, Mr. Harms was placed on Probation for 4 years. After admitting to a violation of his probation on November 5, 2019, Mr. Harms was sentenced on December 17, 2019 to 7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by 2 years of mandatory supervised release (parole).
FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF OFFENSE:
That between October 22, 2016 and October 23, 2016, in Wabash County, Illinois, the Defendant, ANTHONY S. HARMS, committed the offense of THEFT, in that said Defendant knowingly exerted unauthorized control over certain property of XXXXXXX, being one red Honda Foreman 4-wheeler and one green Honda 4-wheeler, with intent to deprive XXXXXXXXXXX permanently of the use of said property, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/16-1(a)(4)(A),and the value of said property exceeds $10,000.00 and does not exceed $100,000.00, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/16-1(b)(5). A CLASS 2 FELONY
