City Council Appoints Madden To Replace Rodriguez As Commissioner

The Mt. Carmel City Council has voted unanimously to appoint Chandler Madden to replace Rod Rodriguez as city commissioner. Madden will be sworn in at the next council meeting on December 30th. Mayor Joe Judge recommended Madden’s appointment at the conclusion of tonight’s city council meeting.

Madden will assume Rodriguez’s post which oversees the fire department, city hall, garbage, and health/safety. He will serve until a special election is held in April 2021 to fill out the remainder of Rodriguez’s term. A total of 8 people applied for the position with three of them, Madden, Don Kensell, and Jaleigh Lashbrook having ran in the April election.
