Lane Resigns From IECC Board

           The Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Trustee James Lane at the regular meeting of the Illinois Eastern Community College District No. 529 held Tuesday night, December 10th at Lincoln Trail College, Robinson, Illinois.

 Approval was given for agreements with Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, to offer Motorcycle Rider Safety Training courses at all four of the IECC colleges, Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Olney Central College in Olney, and Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel. 

 An articulation agreement was approved with Vincennes University that allows IECC graduates with an Associate in Science and Arts Degree with a concentration in Education to transfer to Vincennes University’s Bachelor of Science in Special Education, Mild Intervention K-12.   

Trustees approved bids for design and construction of a new exterior electronic sign at Frontier and one equipment contract for Wabash Valley College.

Affiliation agreements were approved for Phlebotomy programs at Frontier and Olney Central College.   The agreements are with Carle Foundation Hospital; Good Samaritan Hospital; Lawrence County Hospital; and Crawford Memorial Hospital.  

                The semi-annual review of closed meeting minutes was conducted as required by the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

            The Board approved employment of Jared Gullett as Health Careers Instructor at LTC, effective January 2, 2020, Ronda Hockgeiger, Social Services Specialist Instructor, WVC, effective January 2, 2020, Tina Lindley, Process Technology Instructor, LTC, effective January 2, 2020, and Tracy Chastain, Maintenance/Custodian, OCC, effective January 2, 2020. 

                Next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees will be Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 7 p.m. at Wabash Valley College, Mt. Carmel.
