On 11/01/19 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Trenton E. Hammond, age 26, of Mt. Carmel for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Manufacture / Delivery of Cannabis. Mt. Carmel Police responded to a tip that Hammond had been living at a residence in the 500 block of N Walnut Street for nearly a month. Hammond was registered to an address in Keensburg according to his last registry. Hammond is required to notify the Wabash County Sheriff's Office within three days of moving to a new location. Officers arrived at the residence where they located Hammond and found evidence to indicate he had been living on Walnut Street for approximately one month. Officers also found evidence to indicate Hammond had been selling cannabis from the residence as well. Hammond was taken into custody where he was transported to the Wabash County Jail and issued his charges. Hammond was held pending a bond setting by a judge.
Also during this arrest officers located Justin L. Brown, age 20, of Mt. Carmel, who was wanted on a Wabash County Failure to Appear Warrant. Brown was taken to the Wabash County Jail where he was served the warrant and held pending the posting of bond.
