Mt. Carmel Man Sentenced To 3 Years In DOC After Violating Probation On Forgery Charges

Cassandra A. Goldman, Wabash County State's Attorney, reports that Jason C. List, a 39-year old Mt. Carmel, Illinois man, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Circuit Judge Michael J. Valentine in Wabash County Circuit Court.

State's Attorney Goldman advises that the Defendant was charged December 13, 2018 with Forgery, a Class 3 Felony. On February 4, 2019, Mr. List was placed on Probation for 2 years. After admitting to a violation of his probation on November 25, 2019, Mr. List was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release (parole). On January 14, 2019 the Defendant was charged with Forgery, a Class 3 Felony. On February 4, 2019, Mr. List was placed on Probation for 2 years. After admitting to a violation of his probation on November 25, 2019, Mr. List was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release (parole). Sentences shall run concurrent.

FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF OFFENSE:

2018-CF-138:

That between November 17, 2018 and November 19, 2018, in Wabash County, Illinois, the Defendant, JASON C. LIST, committed the offense of FORGERY, in that said Defendant, with the intent to defraud XXXXXX, knowingly delivered to XXXXXX a document, purported to be a check from XXXXX in the amount of $150.00, knowing it to have been thus altered, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/17-3(a)(2). A CLASS 3 FELONY

2019-CF-9:

That between November 17, 2018 and December 3, 2018, in Wabash County, Illinois, the Defendant, JASON C. LIST, committed the offense of FORGERY, in that said Defendant, with the intent to defraud XXXXX, knowingly delivered to XXXXXXX a document, purported to be a check from XXXX in the amount of $250.00, knowing it to have been thus altered, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/17-3(a)(2). A CLASS 3 FELONY
