On October 18th, 2019 Indiana State Police Detective Shane Staggs submitted charges to the Orange County Prosecutors Office in relation to a murder investigation that began on December 27th, 2016. On October 21st, 2019 an arrest warrant was issued for:
Cody Gabrel, 24, of French Lick, IN for the murder of James Bryson, 66, of French Lick. Charges include Felony Murder, Murder,and Burglary Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
December 27th, 2016 James Bryson was found deceased inside his residence that he shared with his sister at 11387 West County Road 50 South French Lick, IN. Bryson had last been seen December 24th, 2016. The investigation is currently ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Shane Staggs at 812-482-1441.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty
$5,000 REWARD increased to $10,000, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/s responsible for the death of Bryson.
