Two Wabash County Fugitives Captured In North Carolina

On Oct. 16th, 2019 the Wabash County Sheriff's Office & Mt. Carmel Police Department received information on the whereabouts of two wanted persons out of Wabash County. The Sheriff's Office & Police Department were able to coordinate with the Bladen County Sheriff's Office & the Lumberton Police Department's (North Carolina) Drug Unit & Motel Corridor Officer to take these two fugitives into custody.

36 year old Anthony Harms was taken into custody as he ran from 107 Todd Britt Ct. Bladenboro NC. Harms had a failure to appear warrant and a violation of probation warrant out of Wabash County. Additionally Harms had an outstanding warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections. Harms also faces local charges in Bladenboro.

Later in the evening 47 year old Jason Groves was taken into custody on an outstanding Wabash County warrant for Aggravated possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine [Class X Felony] by the Lumberton Police Department. Subsequently Groves faces a host of additional drug & weapons charges stemming from the Lumberton arrest & remains in the Robeson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Both Harms & Groves will be extradited back to Wabash County once their North Carolina cases are satisfied, to face the charges they have been running from.
