Wabash County Comes In At #6 In Oil Production In 2019

Wabash County ranks 6th in the state of Illinois in terms of oil production through the first 8 months of 2019. Wabash County produced a total of 271,482 barrels to come in at 6th place. Far and away, White County is the state’s largest oil producer at 1.3 million barrels, more than double the amount produced in Marion County which came in second place. The other counties in the top five ahead of Wabash are Crawford, Lawrence, and Fayette. Last week, Wabash County Commissioners passed a resolution of support for the Illinois oil production industry.
