ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARREST SUBJECT FOR HOMICIDE

Tamms, Illinois – Illinois State Police (ISP) officials arrested Johnny L. Warren, 36-year-old male of Tamms, IL, on murder charges today in relation to last week’s shooting. Warren has been charged with five counts of First Degree Murder by Alexander County State’s Attorney E. Zachary Gowin.

On January 11, 2019, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a subject with a gunshot wound at a residence in Tamms, Illinois.  Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim, Stacy Carter-Gonzales, had succumbed to her injuries sustained from the wounds.

Warren is currently being held at Pulaski County Jail on a 1-million-dollar bond. Assisting agencies include, Alexander County Sherriff’s Office, Cape Girardeau Missouri Police Department, and Missouri Highway Patrol.  

The investigation is on-going. No other information is available at this time. The ISP is encouraging anyone who may have information about this homicide to contact ISP District 13 at (618)524-2171.

The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
