On 9/7/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Nathan G. Jackson, age 36, of Bellmont, and Jennifer L. Swift, age 35, of Mt. Carmel, following an investigation into a retail theft complaint. Officers located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence located at 1149 W 3rd Street. Officers made contact and found the two suspects mentioned by the complainant, Jackson and Swift, at the residence. While in the residence officers located suspected methamphetamine and a used hypodermic syringe in the property of Jackson and Swift. Both Jackson and Swift were placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Both were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Both are being held pending a bond setting by a judge. The stolen items in question were never located.
