The Mt. Carmel City Council has approved the purchase of a new delivery vehicle for the Wabash County Senior Citizens Center. At their meeting last night, commissioners okayed the recommendation from senior citizens commissioner Joe Judge that the city spend $13,500 to purchase the 2012 Chevy Colorado from a seller in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The truck includes a hot box that will allow the meals on wheels program to deliver hot and cold meals safely…..
Of the $13,500 purchase price, Judge said $10,000 was already included in the senior citizens budget and that he expects grants from Toyota and the Frank Orr Trust to cover the remaining $3,500. Judge said he plans to go to Michigan tomorrow to pick up the truck.
