07/18/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested two individuals after the vehicle they were in was stopped by the MCPD Officers. The arresting officer reported seeing 33 Hugh B. Beath, age 33, of Mt. Carmel operating a motor vehicle in the area of 9th and Cherry Street. The arresting officer knew the suspect was driving on a suspended driver's license and initiated a vehicle stop. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Beath had a female in the trunk of the vehicle. The female was identified as 30 year old Nicole I. Kimpling of Mt. Carmel. Kimpling was hiding in the truck because she was wanted on failure to appear warrants out of Lawrence County and Knox County. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond. Beath was charged with driving while license is suspended, obstructing justice, and he was cited for possession of cannabis. Kimpling was charged with obstruction of justice, cited for possession of cannabis, and she was served the two warrants.
