A Long Journey To Ribberfest

Dani Joplin lives in Redmond, Oregon. That’s just slightly over 2,000 miles from her mom, octogenarian Lois McQuillin, a resident of Bradley, Illinois. While searching for some events to attend while visiting in Bradley, Dani came across Wabash Ribberfest on Facebook. The mother/daughter team traveled the 225 miles south to Mt. Carmel last Friday where they found Ribberfest Committee member Clare Kidd who showed them around the Market Street event. They were also given a tour of the community by former City Commissioner Jim Pfiester. According to Lois, both felt like Mt. Carmel was just about the friendliest community they had ever visited.
