THE Mount Carmel Chapter NSDAR meeting on delayed (snow) date of
March 17, 2018. to mark the 95th Anniversary at Trinity United Methodist Church.
To open Regent-Barbara Lant Easter welcomed guest and members. Prayer
given by Sara Steckler Caddell-Chaplain. All attending said PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE
FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The member and guest sang THE STAR
BANNER, ILLINOIS AND repeated THE AMERICAN CREED. Regent-Barbar Lant Easter
welcomed attending OFFICERS OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS NSDAR. Members of the attending
Chapters of NSDAR from Daniel Chapman NSDAR, Vienna, Old Goschen Trial Chapter NSDAR,
Mt. Vernon, IL, Michael Hillegas Chapter NSDAR, Harrisburg, Liberty Bell of the West NSDAR, Chester
and Wabash Chapter NSDAR. Regent-Barbara Lant Easter give the information of the 95 years
of Mount Carmel Chapter NSDAR. The Mount Carmel Chapter NSDAR displayed the original
MOUNT CARMEL CHAPTER NSDAR CHARTER with all names of the first members 95 years ago.
One member Julia Ann Stein Greene, grandmother- Ella Harris Stine was a founding member
of the Mount Carmel Chapter NSDAR. Also displayed were the original Charter attendance,
information on first meeting, scrapbooks of pictures and information
Thru the last 95 years. Closing prayer by Sara Steckler Caddell-Chaplin. Hostess Karen Cochran, LaDonna Blevins.
Judy Coleman, Martha Speir, Mary Lou Keener and Marica Singer served from a beautiful cakes baked and
decorated with DAR Emblems by Marcia Hudson Woodcock, also cookies, fudge, mints, punch and coffee.
Beautiful center pieces with spring flowers by Karen Ruth Cochran. Hand crocheted butterflies by
Audrey Locke Hinderliter each guest was given a flower (Pansy), Crocheted butterfly and commemorative
Butterfly book mark.
