The state seems to be doing a better job in keeping up with their payments to Wabash County. At Monday’s county commissioner meeting, treasurer Beverly McBride said her office received the January income tax receipts in the amount of $28,132 along with another $42,420.08 for reimbursements of the state’s attorney, public defender, and assessor’s salaries. Currently, the state owes the county $14,288.08 for those salaries for February along with an unknown amount for income tax.
