Traffic stop leads to drugs and an impaired driver

On February 24, 2018, at 1:11 a.m. Gibson County Deputy Ben Kiesel conducted a traffic to on a Silver 1999 passenger car that was traveling on US 41 near County Road 650 South. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Kiesel detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and began a roadside investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation 22 year old Deshawn Price of Terre Haute was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Price was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana. He has since posted a $550 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
