12/12/2018-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 53 year old Lawrence Jason Byrns of Mt. Carmel after he was stopped by officers in the area of 5th and Poplar Street. Byrns was stopped for a traffic violation while operating a bicycle. During the stop police found Byrns to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle. Byrns was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a hypodermic needle. Byrns was held pending the posting of bond.
