District #348 Students Participate in IMEA Jazz and Elementary Festival

On Monday, November 5th, several Wabash 348 students participated in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 5 Jazz and Elementary Music Festival. The event was held on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.  Students were selected for this honor by audition. Three band students (directed by Ellen Wall) were selected to be in the ILMEA Jr. High Jazz Band. They were Abigail May (trumpet), Eli Sherman (trombone), and Jacob Wall (electric bass). Eli Sherman was also selected as an improv soloist at the concert.

Thirteen high school vocal students (directed by Kim Mandrell) were selected for the twenty-six member ILMEA Vocal Jazz Ensemble. They were Jonathon Bader, Maggee Bleyer, Abbey Dardeen, Elijah Gill, Josef Gill, Brady Kolb, Jonas Martin, Jack Marvell…
