On 11/18/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Zachary S. Cowling, age 27, of Princeton, IN, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Police received a public complaint regarding a reckless driver operating a black Ford coming from Indiana into Illinois. Police located the suspect vehicle commit a traffic violation on McDowell Street and a traffic stop was conducted. Field sobriety testing was conducted, with the officer observing several clues on Cowling to indicate impairment, and he was subsequently arrested. Cowling was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with DUI. Cowling was held pending the posting of bond.
