Human Remains Still Haven't Been Identified

Despite rumors to the contrary, the remains found last week in rural Wabash County have not been identified. We checked with Coroner Shaun Keepes attempting to confirm the rumors that the remains had been identified. But, Keepes told us that at this time authorities still do not have a cause of death nor an identity on the skeletal remains that were found near a wooded area off of Asbury Chapel Road. He said a press release will be issued once the remains have been identified. Last week, Keepes said an autopsy conducted Friday was unable to determine a cause of death. He said further examination would be completed by a forensic anthropologist and forensic odontologist to help determine the cause of death and identity of the skeletal remains.
