On 12/28/17 at 8:42pm Mt. Carmel Police arrested 33 year old Mt. Carmel resident Jonathan D. Hughes and 40 year old Evansville, IN resident Kevin M. Head following a traffic stop in the 900 block of N Mulberry for a traffic violation on a black Nissan vehicle operated by Hughes. During the stop the arresting officer recognized Kevin Head and knew him to have an Indiana Department of Corrections Parole Warrant for his arrest. Head resisted the arrest but was taken into custody at this time. A search of the vehicle resulted in (5) baggies of suspected Methamphetamine being located that was packaged for delivery. K-9 Officer Hopper and his dog “Ace” arrived at the scene and conducted a free air narcotic sniff on the black Nissan. In doing so the dog alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. Hughes was searched and (2) hypodermic needles were located on him. Hughes was placed under arrest at this time as well. Both Hughes and Head were transported to the Wabash County Jail where Hughes was charged for Methamphetamine Delivery and Possession of Hypodermic Needles. Head was charged with Methamphetamine Delivery and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. Both are being held pending a bond setting by a judge.
